Easy and worth while upgrade(26.04.2013)
As a replacement for the stock bead sight on a mossberg 590 with a breachers barrel (flash suppressor) it fit perfectly. In the light it's not noticeably different from the stock sight, and in the dark it's bright enough to see clearly - and not bright enough to attract the wrong attention.
Installation was a snap. I matched it up with the removed stock sight - and they where the same exact dimensions. I had read that I should expect to file some - but after installation there was no need.
Removal of the old was quick and easy, electrical tape over the jaws of a channel locks. I used red locktight on the new sight.
Thanks Brownels for having it in stock and quick delivery.
Broke Off on Install on Mossberg 590(19.02.2018)
Got the brass bead on the Mossberg 590 Shockwave removed with no problems. Treaded in the Marbles replacement sight, got it about 1/2 way on and it snapped off. Very limited pressure applied. Now I have to try to get the piece out of the threads and try to replace it with another sight. $30 down the tube.
It is what it is.(05.08.2011)
It good for what it is. The dot glows as bright as my Sig night sights, was easy to install, and seems to be pretty durable. I don't know why the other reviewer was complaining that it washes out when looking at direct light, any sight will appear as a black dot. Great for my home defense shotgun.
Good all around drop in sight(01.08.2013)
I love this sight. It is a really big improvement over the tiny silver bead that came on my barrel. The installation was fairly simple, just had to make sure that the threaded hole was deburred around the edge after removal of the stock bead. Used blue loctite, adjusted it parallel to the vent rib and let it set up overnite. The white ring for daytime is awesome. In the dark the tritium bead is what you see. This is a very good all around sight for hunting, skeet shooting, and home defense.
Dot's to small(28.10.2009)
First this is a quality product. It is well made and installation was easy. I installed this on a short barreled Mossberg Maverick. My only complaint is that the tritium insert and the white dot around it are to small. In a very dark room the tritium does show up but is dim. In low light it is hard to see. Facing bright light the white circle surrounding the tritium washes out and you are left with a solid black post. I bought this product due to ease of installation but if I did it again I would pick a sight with a bigger dot or go with a fiber optic.
Trit goes all the way through!(12.02.2010)
Had one put on my 870 without seeing it and was shocked to find that the trit vial shows to the front also. Although it does glow a lot weaker on the muzzle side and can be covered with a Sharpie marker to stop forward illumination.
Dot is plenty bright and white ring is nice in daylight. Can't beat it for the price and it does not require epoxy like the XS sights.
It's Just Right(04.05.2012)
Used the 6X48 to replace the factory tritium bead that came installed in a Sage International ghost ring sight set many years ago. The Marble Arms bead was a perfect match. A drop of blue loctite and the bead screwed right in. It was properly indexed when tightened without shims in my case. Apparently current production has eliminated the "shine through both sides" mentioned in previous reviews. Would not have been a problem if it did as a drop of flat black paint or a Sharpie would take care of it.
The tritium is plenty bright and the white surround helps in daylight or twilight.
Good product.
Awesome item(02.10.2012)
This is a great item it shows up very well in low light conditions and I like to hunt in all kinds of weather conditions, even on those dull days.... I have one little fault I had to use thread lock....
Just right for Winchester 1300 Defender(19.04.2013)
Minor fitting required, took the threads down just a bit so it stayed clear of the barrel, but easy to do. It is a perfect replacement for the bead/fiber optic on my Winchester 1300 Defender. The original site is invisible in the dark, and this site is visible all the time. Exactly as I hoped it would be.
Just right(08.08.2018)
Fits Armscor M5 shotgun and is visible over the heat shield . Love this bead and it is MUCH cheaper than other big dot sights that one must epoxy on the barrel. Just go slow when installing, I like to treat the threads on something like this as if it were a tap(half turn stop reverse repeat) mine was little too long, no worries just a little trim on a hone fixed it. Use high heat loctite.
