A High-End Precision Sight Tool Without the High-End Price

The MGW Rangemaster Universal Sight Tool delivers most of the functionality of MGW’s flagship Sight Pro Tool in a more compact package that better fits the budget of the average pistol owner. The Sight Pro is rightly regarded by many professional pistolsmiths as one of the finest sight installation tools available and worth every penny of its asking price. But it is a substantial investment for the more casual gun-tinkerer or shooter who’s hands-on about repairs and upgrades. MGW solves these folks’ financial dilemma with their smaller Rangemaster Universal Sight Tool. The difference? The Rangemaster is limited to a .750" reach from the backside of the slide underlug to the front sight location. (For reference, the original Sight Pro has a full 1.750" reach for use on 1911s and long-slide competition pistols.) Otherwise, the function of the Rangemaster is exactly the same as the Sight Pro. Uses the same gun-specific slide shoes (sold separately) as the original Sight Pro. Outstanding tool for my purposes (02.03.2018)

Excellent tool. Very well built, and exactly what I needed. I have mostly Sig handguns and the 2 shoes I bought with the tool work just as described. Once I figured things out (watch the MGW youtube videos), I installed Trijicon HD's on 2 of my Sigs in under 45 minutes. If you don't need the 30 degree sight pusher right away, save a little money and order this one.

This is a wonderful product. It works perfectly. If you follow the instructions, it is very difficult to damage your sights or slide.

I had tried one of the $50 ebay special sight pushers... $50 wasted and a gouge in the finish of the slide on my 1911.

This thing is great. It uses a slide shoe system (you do need to buy shoes for each series of pistols that you have) that essentially custom fit the slide into the pusher. It comes with two hands that push the sights. One for vertical sided sights, and one for slant sided sights (think USP sights). They are very good at not marring.

I would highly recommend. This thing has come down in price since I bought it, but I still consider it a good investment. If you're the type of person that likes to tinker with your guns, invest in this pusher.

The only commend I would make for MGW to improve on this is to include a card with every shoe that has the most up-to-date table of which shoe #s fit which guns. It's not a deal killer, because that information is available on the internet, but it would be a very useful (and very cheap to do) item to include.

Great product & service... (14.09.2018)

Bought one of the MGW gun specific models some years ago and was impressed with the quality of the tool. Since my collection expanded, I needed a more versatile tool and bought one of these - Built like a brick outhouse and well finished. I also bought one of the shoes for the Taurus PT111 PRO thinking it would fit my G2 Millennium but it was a no go. I talked to the people at MGW, and they said send in your slide and we'll make one for you. Turn around time was just a couple of days before my slide and matching shoe were on their way back home. I can't say enough about MGW's top notch quality - Both products and customer service. Maybe with the MAGA move on, we'll get more quality domestic manufacturers.
