Dead Soft 20.02.2016
Buttons are dead soft and cut very easily with any file. Helpful hint- if your file cuts the guide, you are cutting into the radius you are trying to create and protect on the frame.

This jig works well as a 220 guide for S&A's outstanding safety, but it is not hard. Any file will bite right into it. Fortunately, they are priced so low that you can treat them as a consumable. If you need a more permanent tool, get a piece of ½" A2 or A6 and centerless grind it to .440", drill it .156 for the axle and then harden.
