Handy tool of extremely tough, non-marring glass-reinforced nylon is perfect for prying and pushing applications where a metal tool can damage the part or gun finish. Rigid chisel point on one end is useful for depressing springs and spring-loaded parts—even use to thread MOLLE straps through webbing—while the semi-flexible flat blade on the other end can get into tight spots or serve as a temporary shim. Great to have around during disassembly of semi-auto pistols like the 1911, Glock, or Smith & Wesson M&P or when working on service rifles like the AR-15/M16. Multiple ridges molded into the grasping area in the middle of the tool help prevent slippage when working with oily or greasy hands. Available in Black or Flat Dark Earth.
SPECS: Glass reinforced nylon, Black or Flat Dark Earth, Approximately 5” (12.7cm) long, ¼” (6.4mm) diameter.

I continue to find new uses for this ingenious tool. Simple but extremely handy, especially when working with things that you don't want to mar or scratch. I keep one on my bench, range bag, and tool box. Recommend picking brown or green if you plan on stuffing it a black bag.
More neat than useful(13.02.2012)
I bought one thinking it would be useful but it's made of a soft material that bends and breaks easily. The long flat bar broke the second time I used it rendering that end un-useful for anything. The short tapered end helps for pushing stubborn take down pins out of AR15 receivers but it doesn't do anything I can't accomplish with other tools I carry around. The FDE color is the best choice if this is going into the dark abyss of a black range bag and I'd recommend shortening the straight flat end to make it a little more sturdy but overall it doesn't do anything special.
Handy Cleaning Tool(20.06.2012)
Handy cleaning tool. Not made for prying, but great for getting into those hard-to-reach areas to clean a gun thoroughly without scratching metal surfaces. (Tool is made of hard nylon.)
If you are going tpo buy one go fo two.(22.06.2012)
This is the haddyist tool in my range bag and work bench. I can install a thumb safety on a 1911 in seconds and never worry about cratches or loosing the plunger and sping assembly. It works great for cleaning placed that are had to get at just put a patch over the tip and you can clean the locking lugs on the frame. and the extractor and the small areas around the firing pin/ extractor enclosure and it reaches down in hard to reach areas the thichness of the flat side with a ptch cleans the rails perfectly. I found it on 10/8 and then saw them selling them here. What a simple great tool.
Generally not useful(20.10.2009)
I bought this tool on a lark and frankly it is a solution looking for a problem. There is such limited utility that the average handy man would have many tools capable of the same thing. The Manufacturer claims it can be used for prying, the thin section as a shim, and to push pins. Neither of the ends are good for pushing pins, it's too flexible to pry, and the shim end is square and too wide to be useful. At least it is non marring and could be used in a shop from time to time.
Very handy(17.07.2010)
I put off buying this tool because I had other tools that did the same job. Because I'm a tool guy anyway, I broke down and bought one. Perfect for levering out tight 1911 extractors, getting pins started, applying grease, etc. The only downside is that mine has gotten nicked up after only moderate use.
Flat blade breaks easily(04.12.2010)
I purchased three of these when they were introduced. So far the long flat blade on two of them have broken under only light to moderate use. They are very easily bent and snap right off. At one point used a wooden popsicle stick to continue the task which broke the flat blade of the armorer's tool, and it proved to be much tougher. I was very disappointed.
Great tool for 1911(20.05.2012)
I use this tool when putting the thumb safety back in a 1911. If you slide the flat end under the safety and use the tool to push the spring loaded plunger in and then push the safety against the tool and frame the safety pops in and the plunger is in place and no scratches. It is also great for cleaning in tight places. Put a patch over the end of the flat and you can clean the slide rails. Use the other side with a patch and clean the locking bushings on the slide. It is a great all around tool. No more scratches! when installing any piece agains a spring.
Of limited use as supplied...(11.08.2012)
Really wanted to "Like" this small tool as it is a worthwhile nitch/need ! Only two stars as one of them chipped right away on the blunt chisel end and... the material is simply to slick to use even on clean metal surfaces. As the others mention the flat end is to flexy to use for most of uses tried or could think of ? Had considered trimming this end back to almost the end of its flat part to give it more stiffness. Maybe 10-8 will source a better material soon ?
Good idea, cheap material(17.08.2013)
I really liked the idea of this tool, unfortunately the first time I tried to use the flat blade broke off. I tried 2 more times to use it and it was badly dented or scratched both times. It is made of very soft ,weak material I think a plastic picnic fork is stronger!
Handy little widget- if used as directed(04.09.2013)
So I get that guys are breaking these things- it's not made of steel and it's not going to work as a super mega prybar. For the dozen or so things 10-8 suggests using it for, it's AWESOME. I do a ton of 1911 and other pistol work and as a non-marring tool for depressing plungers and levering off the occasional stiff ambi safety, the tool is ideal. I'm sure there are a thousand things it's NOT good for, but there are a thousand tools for those things that are. This is a niche tool that does a few things well and, more importantly, leaves no marks to show it was ever used. Plus, they're cheap enough to keep a couple around in the toolbox and the range bag.
