Not a good wrench(11.01.2011)
This is not a good wrench. It doesn't provide enough torque to get the barrel nut loose and actually did slip and slightly marred the gun. The cause of the slip was because the tabs broke loose on the wrench. Now the tool is useless. Hoping I can get a refund. The barrel nut still did not break loose. I would not recommend this tool.
no good(29.03.2011)
pins bent the holes of the wrench and caused the wrench to slip and bend a tooth on the nut. now the pins wont even stay in the wrench.i will be returning it for a refund.
Junk(29.12.2012)
Poorly manufactured. Go spend a few more bucks and get a better one. The pins do not stay in place.
I have never had a problem with stuff from MI before.
FANTASTIC for Aero BAR Nuts(06.03.2017)
I bought this wrench probably 6-8 years ago for a MI free float tube, and never ended up using the wrench. It's just been sitting in my tool box neglected. Recently I've started getting into Aero Precision free float tubes, and have had a tricky time with their BAR barrel nuts (also used by Spike's Tactical, Seekins Precision, and I believe Radical Firearms). Turns out the two pins in this wrench fit perfectly in those barrel nuts. I used this to put together a rifle tonight (along with a 36" long 3cm inner diameter cheater bar) and it made life really easy. I only wish I had bought this wrench from Brownells because I'm going to use it a lot more now, and if it breaks, I won't have Brownells' unbeatable warranty and I'll have to buy another one.
The tool steel pins are staked in the mild steel body and are maybe good for one use, my first use had one pin fall out. The holes are easily elongated and the wrench made useless.
Brownells sells better wrenches, get one of them instead.
The money I wasted in damaged barrel nuts, fingers, and time was not worth the few bucks I "saved" by getting this cheep wrench.
