Why the negativity? (19.01.2016)

I've seen several reviews for these sights that were very negative. While I can't account for their experiences, I can say that mine have been very positive. The sights are bright in daylight and low light conditions. The white ring draws the eye and allows for reasonably rapid acquisition of a sight picture. The fit and finish are good, and the sights have withstood a substantial amount of rounds fired during IDPA and combat shooting scenarios. I have used them to cycle the slide in order to bring the firearm into battery on multiple surfaces and clothing items without issue.

Save Your Money! (09.05.2015)

I purchased this set of night sights for my daily carry pistol, a Ruger SR-1911 Commander. Out of the package, the workmanship seemed sub-par for a product in this price range, with the corners of the male dovetails on both front and rear sights rounded over to the point that it was impossible to even start them in the dovetails on the slide without extensive filing. The front sight also had numerous tool marks, and was overall poorly machined.

The rear sight eventually fit up OK, but I think that a product of this price should be a lot closer in fit, especially when it is supposedly made to be a direct replacement for the factory Novak sights.

The front sight however, was totally unusable. The front edge of the male dovetail was shaped along an arc, or curve, and the rear edge was so out of square that it was impossible to fit the sight so that the (very) elongated sight blade was square to the bore. There was not enough material to square up the poorly machined dovetail, so it's just an expensive piece of junk. There is also a much larger than acceptable gap between the bottom of the sight blade and the top of the slide when installed...large enough to snag on clothing.

I put my factory Novak sights back on my gun, and these will go out with an expensive bag of trash. When the sting of this poor product recedes, I may try a different brand of night sight, but I'm never buying Tru Glo again.

I'd seriously recommend that you not ship any more of these until Tru Glo works out their QC issues.
