Beautiful, Butt Requires Patience. 10.07.2017
This was a very good sight, but take heed it is was not a drop in fit on My version of a Taurus PT-1911.. Using my Military Armors tools took me almost 3 hours of sanding and fitting to get sight to fit in Dove Tail of my PT-1911. The only other item was the Novak sight was 0.024 Longer than the front of my slide. I choose not to change any specifics of my firearm only the sight. This required 1mm reduction of the front an rear 65 degree dove cuts as well as .05 height. End result I need a Brass Punch and Side Cutters to drift left or right, Locke-Tight today and range tomorrow. Patience to Install is a must.
Good sight, but not perfect. 29.06.2014
I had this installed on a PT 1911. It is the right height and shoots where I want it to. It took some work to make it fit the dovetail on my particular gun. The only issue for me is that it doesn't seem exceptionally bright. I don't know how old the tritium is in it, but it was a new sight.
It gives a decent sight picture with the white dot and tritium insert when using in less-than-perfect light. But if you transition from a brightly lit room into an almost-dark one, it can be hard to pick up. In the middle of the night, when your eyes have gotten used to darkness, maybe it wouldn't seem so dim. The night sights I have on my Glocks look like beacons, though, after working with this on my Taurus. If it was as bright as it should be, I would give it five stars. I don't know if that was just the one that I got, or is an issue with all of them. I wanted a tritium sight on there so I could see it in a life-or-death situation, no ifs, ands or buts. And I don't think it's quite what it could and should be.
