Great Set of Springs(23.06.2010)
These springs were high quality and worked well in replacing stock Springfield Springs. You might as well get the Sadlak Match Op Rod Guide while you are at it. It is round as opposed to flat metal and keeps the spring from kinking.
No for a M1 Garand(15.10.2010)
I purchased 3 sets of these for rebuilding CMP Garands.I found the Op Rod springs to have the wrong tension as none of the 3 worked in any combination in even my already function M1 Garands.Instead I installed new Mil Spec springs. They worked fine right out of the Mailbox.[...]
I'll have to try it out.(25.10.2010)
I just did a review that it's not for the Garand, but the small print says " - also fits M1 Garand rifles". David Tubb put his name on it so I will give it a try in my Garand.
These are not for Garand(31.03.2011)
Despite what the copy says, these springs are for the M14 and M1A rifles, not for the M1 Garand.
Could someone at Brownells please correct the copy, removing the references to "M1" and "Garand"?
Repeat, the M1A/M14 takes a different op rod spring from the M1 Garand.
A must have(10.03.2013)
Ive used several different recoil springs in my M14 and there are several better choices over the stock spring available. The Tubbs springs are a little more expensive than some others out there, but I have not found anything that performed better than these recoil springs. Ive found the use of this spring, along with a Sadlak recoil spring guide to significantly improve the performance of a M14/M1A.
Great product, smooth function(01.03.2014)
Fits and works well. The hammer spring is a bit harder to install, but doable. Not sure where people mistakenly think this works on a Garand, perhaps Brownells corrected the description? Yes, they make one for the M1 Garand, but a completely different part number. This is only for the M14/M1A.
If you have an M1A, you need to upgrade to these springs.
Great upgrade(27.02.2015)
A great set of springs especially when paired with a Sadlak national match spring guide. Do your M1A a favor and pick these up. Greatly improved cycling, nice and smooth.
