The red spring should be used in any installation on an AR-style .308 rifle. For a heavier, 4½ lb. pull for tactical applications or NRA Service Rifle competition, install the JPS4.5 spring kit. JPFCP-1EZ fits small pin (.154") receivers.

It'll take more than 5 minutes just to read the instructions, but this kit will produce an excellent trigger pull without any polishing, or grinding. There are two set screws that control the movement of the disconnector, and trigger over travel. The sear engagement is short, and crisp on release of the hammer. Mating surfaces are well finished, and need no work. I installed this kit in an Anderson 308 lower, and later in a DPMS LR308 lower where it was needed more urgently. Both installations resulted in clean breaking pulls running at just under 4 pounds with minimal over travel. The set screws had to be adjusted again after removing the assembly from the Anderson, and installing it in the DPMS. The set screws have to be locked with red Loctite, which is provided with the kit. Heat is required to loosen screws that are set with red Loctite, so be sure to get to your adjustments quickly after applying the Loctite. Self locking set screws would be better, but they don't exist in such small sizes, so red Loctite it is. This trigger system gives a remarkably good result at a reasonable price. I have trigger systems on other AR platforms that are as good, but not at the price of the J P. This trigger kit is a good buy and gives back a really improved trigger pull on AR platforms.

I have put many of the older JP triggers in and this is by far the best trigger I have ever installed. JP did a world class job on this product. Simple to install easy adjustment and a superior end result. The only thing I would add is to use some Emery paper and only Emery paper to the inside of the receiver holes to remove any residue from the Anodize to make a smooth light press fit. Excellent trigger. My hats off to JP.

Easy to install. Couldn't be happier. I am not a gunsmith and live where I don't have easy access to one. Followed the instructions and DVD. Took longer than 5 minutes they describe but much less than 30 minutes. Did it several times to understand how it all works. Only issue was the tight fit of the oversize pins on my lower. Took a little practice to get the right wiggle to insert them. Each time was easier.
