Designed with direct input from veteran trainers Mike Pannone, Daryl Holland, and Ken Hackathorn, the LE6960-CCU Upper Receiver is a modern design featuring a 13” Centurion Arms slim profile, M-LOK, free float handguard, around a 16.1” lightweight profile, mid-length gas system barrel. This barrel has chrome lined bore with a 1-7 twist rate, and a manganese phosphate finish. Genuine Colt Upper and Barrel (21.07.2018)

It is a genuine Colt thin profile barrel with a low profile gas block from a shaved down F marked front sight (similar to Colt OEM2 gas block). The barrel has Colts cage code and MP proof on it. It is a thinner, lighter profile barrel that is without the M4 profile grenade cut, which I prefer as it serves no civilian purpose. The upper itself has a keystone forge mark and Colts cage code to the right of the keystone. The centurion rail has been properly installed with proper torque on the hex keys (checked with my torque set). Everything came in good condition and was shipped very quickly. The only downside is price. This thing went on sale with a huge discount 1 day after I ordered it. If I would have waited a day, I would have saved almost $100. But anyway, I put this on a genuine Colt complete lower, also sold at Brownells, that I purchased on a good sale for less than $200. Added an extra Colt bcg that I had laying around and now have a complete Colt Combat Unit for less than $800 vs the $1300 retail price. Only differences are the Magpul grip, SL stock and MP trigger gaurd, which can all be eassily changed later. Even though I missed the sale, I think I did pretty good overall.

Poor quality control (24.07.2018)

The upper receiver and the rail are not properly aligned, there is also a large gouge in the rail.

Upper Receiver Is Purple (11.08.2018)

Upper receiver is purple. 2ND's!!!!!!!!

Centurion rail is "black" and blends well w/ black Colt lower.

Rail appears to be properly installed and is rock solid.

No problems (09.09.2018)

Arrived in great shape with one tiny scratch on the hand guard app. 1mm in length. The receiver and hand guard match colors well with neither tending toward purple; the hand guard is perfectly aligned with the receiver. Added a Troy ambi CH, a Colt bcg and a Colt M4 lower w/ a Geissele SSA-E trigger and B5 SOPMOD Bravo stock. Now just waiting for an opportunity to get to the range to see how well it plays with my Leupold LCO.

Good upper (16.09.2018)

Centurion rail is installed properly. Silver insert to prevent overtorqe is present. Top rail lines up with receiver. I didn't inspect it for discoloration, scratches, etc before I started shooting it. Purchased to be used as a tool, not as an instagram model.

Lightweight 4150CMV barrel with midlength gas. Gas block is super low profile and rail is *very* slim. Points like a conductor's wand.

Keyhole/Cerro receiver has the new cage code marking ("13629") instead of the "C". Barrel has both.

Colt CCU receiver (21.09.2018)

The Colt CCU receiver is well made, however, similar to other reviews, the upper has a slight purple tint to it. That is not what we expect from Colt. It won't affect the function of the rifle, but you have to ask Colt why this is the case. The fit and function appear flawless otherwise. The rails match up very well, the parts are good quality and the fit on my Colt M4 lower are tight. The Centurion handguard is very nice and thin, allowing for great handling. I am eager to get it to the range.
